ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is known as ADHD. ADHD is one of the common disorder found in children. According to research, 8.4% of children and 2.5 % of adults are identified with ADHD. A person with ADHD will not be able to keep focus or showcases extra movements in fixing the things or take the decisions Impulsively.

ADHD is a major impairment of the brain’s executive functions. People have a stigma that ADHD is a mental illness, it is neither a behavioural disorder nor any disability. It is a development impairment of the brain’s self-management system. It leads to facing trouble with impulse-control, focusing, and organization.

Research suggests that genetics, heredity and mother’s behaviour during pregnancy plays an important role in the development of ADHD Disorders. Premature babies are often affected by ADHD disorder.

ADHD can be treated with therapeutic treatments. There are many ways which help the child to deal with ADHD problems. Generally, Psychotherapy, Behavioural therapy, Social skills training, Parenting skills training are the common ways which a speech therapist will choose to help an ADHD person. These therapies will help the child to control the emotions and act accordingly. There are many support groups which help the person to overcome hyperactive or impulsive disorders.
